At the gates of Lille, Merignies Golf Country Club, **** Golfstars, is the most hilly course in the Flat Country with its 1,500,000 m3 of embankment. It is a 27-hole and will eventually be a 36-hole. Its two main courses, that of La Valutte and that of Val de Marque, are the equivalent of a Par 70 of 5664 meters.
The Val de Marque is quite technical and punctuated by many bunkers. The start of hole 2 requires a powerful drive in order to pass over the water obstacle. Hole 7, Par 3, has a generous bunker. The Rupilly course is a Par 37 of 3200 meters. It is the longest of the 3 courses with an exceptional view of a part of Romanesque Flanders, La Pévèle. Dogs are allowed on the course.
Rewarded by the Silver Golf and Biodiversity Label, this golf course is a signatory to the Charter of Responsible Sport: it collects rainwater to water its course and does not use any fertilizer or pesticide. The architect, Michel Gayon, designed it as an artificial links. The tees and greens all have sand foundations, allowing for faster rainwater flow. The route is entirely fed by a network of pipes for 35 kilometers. Thus, Merignies Golf is recognized for the quality of its course throughout the region, allowing to play on summer greens in any season, except on frost days.
On 10 hectares, Mériginies Golf offers a high quality driving range, a putting green of 500 m2, an approach area and notable fact, at the clubhouse, a simulator offering 12 of the most beautiful courses in the world and an analysis of your swing.
Merignies Golf has 2 food outlets: a brasserie with a non-stop bar in season and a restaurant La Canopée, offering a cuisine of the region with 100% local products. The view is breathtaking on the course from the floor of the clubhouse. History of redoing his journey with friends...
